AFDA Committees
AFDA has established standing committees that serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors. The chairperson of each standing committee is either appointed as defined in the association’s bylaws or by the President of the Arizona Fire District Association.
Legislative Committee – The Legislative Committee keeps the membership informed through the Board of Directors of any proposed legislation affecting fire districts and recommends legislative matters for consideration. The committee serves as a liaison, as approved by the Board of Directors, between the AFDA members, the state legislature and other government agencies.
Nominating Committee – The Nominating Committee oversees the process for electing positions on the Board of Directors and for filling membership on the Board of Directors as vacancies occur. The Nominating Committee is chaired by the Immediate Past President of the association.
Education and Conference Committee – The Education Committee organizes, implements, and facilitates educational activities to keep members current in the fire district governance, administration and finance. The Education Committee directs all educational aspects of the association’s education and training conferences and other training sessions.
